Ricketts Glen State Park

Rated the #1 State Park in Pennsylvania, Ricketts Glen features a necklace of 25 picturesque waterfalls along a four-and-a-half-mile trail through the Ganoga Glen and Glen Leigh forks of Kitchen Creek. The trail is easy, but steep, descending close to 1000 feet in less than two miles. Slate stairs seem to integrate seamlessly into the rock cliffs.

The falls range from a few feet tall to close to a hundred feet for Ganoga Falls, but all are gorgeous, especially when the water is flowing strong. It's one of the most beautiful chain of falls in the contiguous US. Certainly, the falls hike is the most popular thing to do, but there is camping, swimming with beaches, ample fishing in the lakes on the Allegheny Plateau, farm tours, and rafting in the areas near Wilkes-Barre.
