Sulphur, Oklahoma is home to the Chickasaw National Recreation Area and chock full of creeks, falls, springs, campgrounds, and buffalo. The Oklahomans who camp here say this is their favorite place in the state and not like anything else in Oklahoma. It is filled with tree lined hiking trails dotted with fresh drinking water and pure springs for dipping in. When we spotted "Little Niagara" on the map, we wanted to see it and it didn't disappoint. It was indeed little, albeit very pleasant to wade across.
Sulphur is also home to the Chickasaw Cultural Center one of the largest and most extensive tribal cultural centers in the United States. It hosts live demonstrations, collections, exhibits and special events.
